Earth laughs in flowers. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
It was such
a beautiful day with the sun shining bright and warm!
So I spent the day playing in the dirt!
See how bright the sun was ... here is my shadow!
These are some photos of my garden it is looking a little sad.
I did do a lot of clean up
A few daffodils are blooming!
This is in the front of my house
I do have alot of wild onions and I do hate them
they are so hard to get rid of
Found a box of daffodil bulbs I didn't plant last fall
put them in this planter...hope they bloom
then I'll plant them in the garden
Bought this cement planter at a garage sale last summer
More of that darn wild onion
They are hard to see but there are hundreds of
Rose of Sharon start ups
To me Rose of Sharon is like a bad weed!
I've even trim the bushes so they don't bloom but of course
they still do...then drop their seeds and all
these little starter pop up everywhere!
This is the very shady side of the house there is a bleeding heart
and ferns here - I'll be sure and show it to you
when they bloom!
I really only have a very small yard but it sure takes a lot of time
to keep up with all the garden stuff !
Found these on the Better Homes and Garden web site
they are Sombrero coneflowers WOW they are really beautiful!

Looks like you got a lot done. I hope your daffodils will bloom!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the same thing you are right now... clearing up the leaves and grass and twigs, etc... from the yard. Spring is definitely here!
ReplyDelete:)
time spent in the garden is happy time.Hugs and happy weekend wishes!
ReplyDeleteWe can't grow daffodils and rose of sharon here in the equatorial. I see daffodils sprouting up in spring now and they are very lovely. You are so lucky to have daffodils :P
ReplyDeleteI have the same wild onions. When I first moved here I thought they were muscari of crocus. Since I quit spraying for weeds they are multiplying.
ReplyDeleteI did the same yesterday...it is melting day by day here and I can't wait to get this yard shaped up..it is horrible...and needs help desperately!!!
